Treesa Builders is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in Vancouver. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and managing a variety of civil engineering projects, contributing to the development of innovative and practical engineering solutions that support our construction and development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform civil engineering design and calculations for facilities including stormwater management, retention and sediment control ponds, and the sizing of ditches, culverts, and various ponds.
  • Design and manage water and slurry pipelines, including valve stations, air valves, and low point drains.
  • Oversee site development projects such as roads, pipeline corridors, facility pads, rough grading, site preparation/foundations excavation, finished grading, and surface drainage.
  • Conduct pipe and open channel hydraulics calculations.
  • Review and check civil engineering design drawings thoroughly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare contract and procurement technical support documents, including scopes of work, specifications, and bills of quantities.
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations for the construction and modification of mining and industrial facilities and services as required.
  • Develop creative yet practical civil engineering concepts tailored to specific project needs.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, design criteria, and detailed material take-offs.
  • Work closely with and lead civil designers in project execution.
  • Coordinate site visits and collaborate with Construction/Trades teams.
  • Establish strong working relationships and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical specifications and provide engineering input to material, construction, and commissioning packages.
  • Provide engineering technical support to the field during construction, including responding to RFIs from construction contractors, issuing Site Instructions, and performing field reviews.
  • Participate in the development of proposals, study reports, engineering specifications, and contract documents.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering, with eligibility to register or already registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
  • 6 to 12 years of experience in civil engineering design within mining, energy, and/or industrial projects, from conceptual to detailed design stages.
  • Strong experience in site development, pipe and open channel hydraulics.
  • Tailings/slurry piping design experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of various piping materials, fittings, and joining methods.
  • Proficiency in stormwater management, runoff calculations, and sizing of ditches, culverts, and ponds.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying geotechnical design recommendations to civil designs is an asset.
  • Understanding of various coordinate systems and survey controls.
  • Excellent organizational, technical, communication, and computer skills.
