Treesa Builders is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our Vancouver team. This entry-level role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for accuracy in financial reporting. As a Junior Accountant, you’ll be a vital part of our finance team, contributing to various accounting tasks that support the financial health of our construction projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance: Assist with day-to-day general ledger entries, including accruals, expense tracking, and data reconciliation.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payment collection and disbursement.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records and address discrepancies as needed.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Expense Reporting: Track and process employee expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and budget requirements.
- Data Entry and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and support data entry for payroll and other transactions.
- Supporting Audits: Assist with internal and external audits by organizing and providing necessary documentation.
- Compliance and Accuracy: Ensure all accounting practices comply with applicable financial regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Entry-level position; some prior internship or experience in accounting is beneficial but not required.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with the finance team and other departments.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify errors and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
